This series of four cinematic recreations is inspired by Dune and explores lighting, scale, atmosphere, and real-time FX within Unreal Engine 5.
Across the four shots, I focused on:
Cinematic sun placement and silhouette shaping
Environmental scale and camera movement
Telephoto vs wide composition studies
Procedural aircraft motion using Perlin noise
Custom heat distortion materials
Volumetric smoke simulations created in EmberGen
Sandstorm control using Ultra Dynamic Weather (manual override)
EXR sequence rendering and final grading in DaVinci Resolve
Each piece was rendered as an EXR sequence from Unreal Engine and compiled in DaVinci Resolve, allowing for refined cinematic color treatment while maintaining a real-time pipeline.
This series serves as a focused study in real-time cinematography, environmental lighting, and FX integration.
